Menopause Fitness
Menopause Fitness for Women in Midlife
Build strength, feel capable in your body, and stop guessing what you should be doing now.
Strength training, nutrition coaching and sustainable habits for perimenopause and menopause, built around your body, your goals and the reality of your life.
Available online or one-on-one in a private gym near Woodstock, Ontario.
Your body is changing. Your approach to fitness can change with it.
Maybe the workouts that used to work don't feel the same anymore.
Your sleep is less predictable. Your energy can change from one week to the next. Building and maintaining muscle takes more intention. And somewhere between work, family and everything else you're responsible for, you're trying to figure out what you're actually supposed to be doing for your health now.
You don't need to punish your body into changing.
And you don't need a perfect schedule, a gym membership or another complicated plan you can't realistically follow.
You need a plan that makes sense for this stage of your life.
That's what we build together.
I'm Maureen Brintnell, founder of Alpha Momma, certified personal trainer, and nutrition and wellness coach.
I help women in perimenopause and menopause get stronger, build supportive nutrition habits and create a way of training they can actually sustain.
Your coaching is programmed around your current fitness level, your goals, the equipment you have available and the weeks you're actually living.
Because a plan only works if it works in your real life.
Why strength training matters in menopause
Perimenopause and menopause bring physiological changes that can affect muscle, bone health, body composition, sleep, recovery and metabolic health.
That doesn't mean your body is failing you.
It means this is a time to become more intentional about protecting the strength and health you'll want for the decades ahead.
Strength training can help you build and maintain muscle, support bone health and preserve your ability to keep doing the things that matter to you.
And you don't have to become a fitness person to benefit from it.
You just have to start where you are.
My role is to help you know what to do, how much to do, and how to keep moving forward when sleep, energy, work or family life don't cooperate.
No all-or-nothing expectations.
No starting over every Monday.
Just thoughtful coaching, progressive strength training and habits we can adjust as your life changes.
What menopause fitness coaching includes
Your coaching may include:
- Strength training programmed for your current ability, equipment and space, whether you train at home or in a gym.
- Nutrition coaching focused on practical habits such as protein, balanced meals and consistency, without restrictive dieting.
- Recovery strategies and realistic exercise habits for weeks when sleep or energy aren't ideal.
- Support rebuilding strength and confidence if you've been away from exercise.
- Regular check-ins, accountability and adjustments so your program continues to fit your life.
This isn't about promising that exercise will fix menopause or make every symptom disappear.
It's about giving your body the support it needs now while building strength, confidence and habits that can serve you well beyond menopause.
You don't need to wait for life to calm down
It's easy to tell yourself you'll focus on your health when work settles down, the kids need you less, you're sleeping better or you finally have more time.
But your health doesn't have to wait for a quieter season.
We can build around the season you're in now.
I've raised a large family myself, so I understand what it means to have competing responsibilities, limited time and other people who need something from you.
That experience shapes the way I coach, but you don't need to be a mother to work with me. Women in every circumstance are welcome here.
You don't need more pressure to get this right.
You need a starting point, a plan you trust, and someone in your corner who knows how to adjust it when real life happens.
That's what coaching is for.
